Interlock Patios

Outdoor living spaces built to last for decades.

Custom-designed interlocking stone patios using premium pavers. Includes proper base compaction, edging, and jointing sand for long-term stability.

The Service

Done properly, the first time.

An interlock patio is outdoor living space you'll use for decades — if it's built right. The pavers you see are the easy part; what determines whether a patio stays flat or heaves and sinks is the base underneath. We excavate to proper depth, build up granular base material in compacted lifts, and screed a precise bedding layer before any stone goes down. That's how a patio survives Southern Ontario's freeze-thaw cycles.

We work with premium paver lines in a wide range of colours, textures, and laying patterns, and design the patio around how you'll actually use it — dining, lounging, a fire feature, or all three. Edges are locked with proper restraint and joints filled with polymeric sand to resist weeds and washout.

How It Works

From first call to finished interlock patios.

  1. Design consultation

We measure the space, talk through layouts and materials, and quote the full scope in writing.

  2. Excavation

The area is dug out to the depth the site and use require — never just a few inches of skim.

  3. Base construction

Granular base goes in and is compacted in lifts, then a screeded bedding layer is prepared.

  4. Paver installation

Pavers are laid in your chosen pattern, cut cleanly around curves and edges.

  5. Lock-in & walkthrough

Edge restraint and polymeric sand lock the surface; we walk the finished patio with you.

Good to Know

Interlock Patios questions, answered.

Almost always the base. If the excavation was too shallow or the base wasn't compacted properly, freeze-thaw cycles will move the pavers. We build the base to suit our climate so the surface stays flat.

It depends on size and site access — we'll give you a realistic timeline with your quote and keep you updated on scheduling.

Very little: topping up polymeric sand occasionally and an optional sealer if you want to deepen the colour. Individual pavers can also be lifted and re-set if ever needed — something poured concrete can't do.

Yes — we regularly remove cracked concrete pads and walkways and rebuild the space in interlocking stone with a proper base.
