Our 30-day sod installation warranty

The warranty, in plain terms

HB Landscaping warranties our sod installation workmanship for 30 days from the date of installation. If sod dies because of improper installation on our part, we'll repair or replace it at no cost to you.

Thirty days isn't an arbitrary number. New sod knits its roots into the soil within two to three weeks, so genuine installation problems — poor grading, bad soil contact, gaps at the seams — show themselves early. If the lawn makes it through its first month healthy, the installation did its job.

What's covered

• ·Sod that dies due to improper installation practices
• ·Repair or replacement of affected areas at no cost to the homeowner
• ·Coverage transfers to the new owner if the property is sold during the warranty period

What the warranty depends on

The warranty is contingent on following the aftercare instructions we provide at installation. New sod lives or dies by watering in its first weeks — it's the one part of the job we can't do for you. Our sod aftercare guide covers the full watering, mowing, and fertilizing schedule, broken down week by week.

Payment must also be made in full within 7 days of the invoice date for the warranty to remain in effect.

What voids the warranty

• ·Payment not made in full within 7 days of the invoice date
• ·Damage caused by people, animals, or insects
• ·Mechanical damage or negligence
• ·Acts of God — flooding, drought conditions, extreme weather
• ·Misuse of herbicides or pesticides by the homeowner or their agents
• ·Watering that doesn't follow our aftercare recommendations

How to make a claim

• ·Notice a problem? Contact us right away — sod issues compound quickly, and the earlier we see it, the more we can save.
• ·Send written notice within the warranty period, with a description of the problem and photographs of the affected area.
• ·We'll inspect the area and determine whether the issue is covered under this warranty.
• ·If it's covered, we repair or replace the affected sod at no cost to you.

We're confident in the quality of our sod installation workmanship, and we stand behind our work. The terms above are spelled out in your quote and install paperwork as well — no surprises, no fine print that says something different.
