Mulch Beds

Clean, defined beds that frame your property beautifully.

Mulch bed installation and refresh including edging, weed barrier, and premium bark or rubber mulch. Suppresses weeds and retains soil moisture.

The Service

Done properly, the first time.

Fresh, well-edged mulch beds are the quickest visual upgrade a property can get — they frame the house, define the gardens, and make even a modest lawn look deliberate. But mulch is more than cosmetic: a proper layer suppresses weeds, holds soil moisture through dry stretches, and moderates soil temperature for the plants growing through it.

We install and refresh beds with crisply cut edges, weed barrier where it makes sense, and quality mulch at the right depth — enough to work, not so much that it suffocates plants or piles against stems and trunks.

What’s included

  • Bed shaping and crisp spade or mechanical edging
  • Weed removal and weed barrier where appropriate
  • Quality bark or rubber mulch in your chosen colour
  • Correct depth — and kept clear of stems and trunks
  • Haul-away of weeds, old mulch, and debris
How It Works

From first call to finished mulch beds.

  1. Bed assessment

We measure the beds, discuss mulch type and colour, and quote the work.

  2. Preparation

Weeds come out, edges are recut, and barrier goes down where it helps.

  3. Mulch installation

Mulch is spread at the right depth and feathered clear of plants.

  4. Cleanup

Walkways and lawn are blown clean; debris is hauled away.

Good to Know

Mulch Beds questions, answered.

Have a question we haven’t covered? Ask during your free on-site estimate — or give us a call.

Two to three inches is the working range — enough to suppress weeds and hold moisture without smothering plant roots. Piling it deeper (or against trunks) does more harm than good.

Natural mulch breaks down into the soil, which is part of its value. Most beds look their best with a refresh every year or two.

Where it helps — under gravel and in beds without frequent replanting. In actively planted gardens we often skip it, since breaking-down mulch improves the soil beneath. We'll recommend what suits each bed.
