But mulch is more than cosmetic: a proper layer suppresses weeds, holds soil moisture through dry stretches, and moderates soil temperature for the plants growing through it.
We install and refresh beds with crisply cut edges, weed barrier where it makes sense, and quality mulch at the right depth — enough to work, not so much that it suffocates plants or piles against stems and trunks.
