Permeable Pavers

Stylish hardscaping that manages stormwater naturally.

Permeable interlocking pavers allow rainwater to filter through rather than run off, reducing flooding risk while creating beautiful outdoor surfaces.

The Service

Done properly, the first time.

Permeable pavers look like conventional interlock but work completely differently underneath: rainwater passes through the joints into an open-graded stone base and soaks into the ground, instead of sheeting off toward your foundation or the storm sewer. For properties that struggle with pooling, runoff, or soggy edges after every storm, they solve a drainage problem and upgrade the surface in one project.

The system depends on a properly built open-graded base — a different structure than standard interlock — and we build it to spec. The finished surface handles vehicle and foot traffic just like conventional pavers and comes in modern colours and formats.

What’s included

  • Assessment of your site's drainage and soil conditions
  • Excavation and open-graded stone base built for infiltration
  • Permeable paver installation in your chosen colour and format
  • Clean joint aggregate — no polymeric sand to seal the surface
  • Edge restraint and full site cleanup
How It Works

From first call to finished permeable pavers.

  1. Drainage assessment

We check where water comes from and where it needs to go, and confirm permeable pavers are the right tool.

  2. Excavation

The area is dug to the depth the infiltration base requires.

  3. Open-graded base

Clear stone layers are placed and compacted to store and soak water.

  4. Paver installation

Permeable pavers go down with joint aggregate that keeps the surface draining.

  5. Walkthrough

We review care and confirm water is moving as designed.

They significantly reduce runoff from the paved area itself — rain soaks through into the base instead of racing toward low spots and foundations. For larger drainage issues we can pair them with French drains or grading work.

The joints can slowly collect fines, which is managed with occasional sweeping or vacuuming of the joint aggregate. It's straightforward maintenance we'll walk you through.

Yes — installed on a properly built base they handle regular vehicle traffic. The base for a driveway is deeper than for a patio, and we build accordingly.
