Interlock Walkways

Inviting, durable pathways from curb to door.

Professionally installed interlocking walkways that complement your home's architecture and stand up to Southern Ontario freeze-thaw cycles.

The Service

Done properly, the first time.

Your walkway is the first thing every visitor touches on your property — and one of the hardest-working surfaces on it. We build interlock walkways on the same properly excavated, compacted granular base as our patios, with a subtle cross-slope so water sheds off instead of pooling or icing over in winter.

Whether it's a straight run from driveway to door or a curved path through the garden, we cut and lay pavers to complement your home's architecture, lock the edges, and finish the joints with polymeric sand. The result is a walkway that stays flat and safe through years of freeze-thaw.

What’s included

  • Layout design that suits your home and traffic flow
  • Removal of old concrete, flagstone, or worn paths
  • Excavation and compacted granular base
  • Premium pavers with clean cuts on curves and borders
  • Drainage slope so water sheds away from the house
  • Edge restraint, polymeric sand, and full cleanup
How It Works

From first call to finished interlock walkways.

  1. Site visit & layout

We walk the route, discuss width, curves, and materials, and provide a written quote.

  2. Removal & excavation

The old surface comes out and the path is excavated to proper depth.

  3. Base & bedding

Granular base is compacted in lifts and a bedding layer screeded flat with the right slope.

  4. Paver installation

Pavers are laid, cut, and edged for a clean, finished line.

  5. Lock-in & cleanup

Polymeric sand locks the joints and the site is left spotless.

Good to Know

Interlock Walkways questions, answered.

Have a question we haven’t covered? Ask during your free on-site estimate — or give us a call.

Most front walkways work best at roughly four feet — wide enough for two people side by side. Garden paths can be narrower. We'll recommend a width that fits your space and use.

We build in a slight cross-slope so meltwater sheds off rather than pooling and freezing. Interlock also stands up well to shovelling, and most ice melters are safe on quality pavers.

We recommend against overlays — they inherit every problem of the surface underneath. We remove the old path and build a proper base so the new walkway lasts.

Where We Work

We provide interlock walkways across Fergus, Elora, Centre Wellington, and surrounding communities.
