Privacy Screens & Posts

Create seclusion without closing off your outdoor space.

Lattice panels, slatted privacy screens, and decorative post systems for patios, decks, and garden areas. Custom sizing available.

The Service

Done properly, the first time.

Sometimes you don't need a fence — you need a well-placed screen. Privacy screens block the specific sightline that matters (the neighbour's second-storey window, the street view of your hot tub) without walling in your whole yard. Because they're targeted, they often deliver more usable privacy than a full fence line at a fraction of the footprint.

We build custom slatted screens, lattice panels, and decorative post systems sized to your space — freestanding on their own footings or integrated into an existing deck or patio. Slat spacing, height, and orientation are chosen around what you're screening from, so the result feels architectural rather than defensive.

What’s included

  • Sightline assessment — what you're screening and from where
  • Custom sizing, slat spacing, and style options
  • Posts set on proper footings, below frost depth where freestanding
  • Integration with existing decks, patios, or fence lines
  • Stain or finish options to match your outdoor space
How It Works

From first call to finished privacy screens & posts.

  1. Sightline assessment

We stand where you sit and figure out exactly what needs screening.

  2. Design & quote

Height, width, slat spacing, and materials are designed around that sightline.

  3. Footings & frame

Posts are set solidly — on footings below frost depth when freestanding.

  4. Screen construction

Slats or panels go up straight, level, and evenly spaced.

  5. Finish & walkthrough

Optional stain or finish, then a final review with you.

Good to Know

Privacy Screens & Posts questions, answered.

Have a question we haven’t covered? Ask during your free on-site estimate — or give us a call.

Height limits vary by municipality and by whether the screen is attached to a deck or freestanding. We'll confirm what's allowed for your property during the site visit.

If the issue is one or two specific sightlines, a screen is usually the better tool: more targeted, less imposing, often less cost. If you need to contain pets or kids or define the whole property line, that's a fence.

Yes — we assess the framing and attach or reinforce as needed so the screen is solid, not wobbly.
